Congratulation letter from the WKF

Madrid, March the 3rd, 2009

As President of the World Karate Federation, and being unable of attending personally to the event, as I would be my wish, I’m pleased to send my written congratulations to the world’s Tai-Jitsu community, and particularly the Spanish and asturian Tai-Jitsu, on the creation of the World Tai-Jitsu Federation.

As a Spanish martial artist, I’m especially happy to see this initiative appearing in our country, and more specifically in Asturias. Since 1992, when being the President of the Spanish Karate Federation I decided to appoint the young asturian Joaquín Muñiz as National Director of Tai-Jitsu, Asturias has been a reference for national and international Tai-Jitsu.

The work performed by Joaquín during these 17 years, following a steady path of persistence, thorough work, and a special care for this Martial Art, has strengthened Tai-Jitsu in our country, and it is responsible for its prestigious stand at national and international level.

The divulgation of Tai-Jitsu in Spain, Latin America and Europe from the Asturian Karate Federation, with the stark support of its President Mr. Benjamín Rodríguez Cabañas, is to a great extent responsible for the foundation of the World Tai-Jitsu Federation today, with the presence of a significant number of members and good perspectives of further associations in the future.

I’ve had the chance to see the constitution project and also to advise Joaquin on some particular subjects on his request. I can assure that the rigour and seriousness being put on the constitution of this Wold Tai-Jitsu Federation will soon result in access to the International Sport institutions. As member of the GAISF Executive Committee, I want to publicly show my support for your entry into GAISF in the shortest possible time.

I also want to congratulate Asturias, for as long as the headquarter of the World Tai-Jitsu Federation are located in this wonderful land, it will become a great ambassador of the “Natural Paradise” which Asturias is.
